Please join us for an evening out - October 26, 2009 - as we head to the Spaghetti Factory off Steveston Highway for a delicious dinner followed by the soon-to-be released SilverCity screening of AMELIA! AMELIA stars two-time Academy Award®-winner Hilary Swank as Amelia Earhart, the legendary aviatrix and enigmatic symbol of the American free spirit, who was guided by a profound curiosity for everything life had to offer. Earhart's early aviation triumphs and meteoric rise to fame and fortune were propelled along by her tempestuous partnership and eventual marriage to publisher George Putnam (Richard Gere). Bound by mutual ambition, admiration and, ultimately a great love, their bond could not be broken even with her brief passionate affair with Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor). Ms. Earhart was the first woman to solo the Atlantic and was the first pilot, man or woman, to fly unaccompanied across the Pacific. In Amelia's attempt to be the first to fly around the world in an equatorial flight her life was tragically cut short with her mysterious and untimely disappearance over the South Pacific in 1937. Bring your friends and family!

Please send your RSVP to info@womeninaviation.ca so we can save you a seat at the Spaghetti Factory and at the theatre! We look forward to seeing you there!

S.A.F.E. stands for “Submerged Aircraft Fuselage Egress”. Bryan states from his website www.dunkyou.com... “The S.A.F.E. course will give you and your flight crew the tools and confidence to have a far better chance of surviving a water impact crash. Reports from aviation publications state that 90% of people that end up in the water while flying, drowned needlessly. This indicates that they survived the impact but succumbed to drowning when they did not exit the aircraft.”

This one and a half hour introduction to the SAFE course will be conducted at BCIT Aerospace Centre and will be extremely beneficial to anyone who travels over water by air. Please join us Thursday, August 6 at 1900hrs – and bring your friends and family – anyone you think would find Bryan’s presentation of value!
