SEA TO SKY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
Member Profile - Membership Chair Dayna Gamble

Occupation/Position/Title/What I do:

First Officer on a Beech1900D for Central Mountain Air out of YVR. I love my job because when it is a job it is a rewarding and stimulating one. The rest of the time I am flying.
Favorite Achievement:
I don't think I can pick a single favorite achievement. Hiking the Inca Trail with my 72 year old Grandfather, licensing my first student after they passed their Private Pilot flight test, and flying in a C172 to Boulder, Colorado to visit my aunt during Commercial license training are a few life highlights.
Goals:
In the next ten years I would like to fly for a major airline in Canada and be a mother.
Aviation Role Model/Mentor/Someone I admire and why:
I respect and admire Rosella Bjornson for her individual strengths and experiences as well as those that followed shortly after her in civil aviation. Because of her I have no reason to doubt I will achieve both the goals I have listed above.
Passions and Interests:
I have a passion for playing in the outdoors whether it is on my bicycle, on my snowboard or in my hiking
boots. I am also a book worm.
Current read:
The Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill. I recommend this book to everyone. Also, books I have recently read which are worth mentioning are Three Cups of Tea and A Thousand Splendid Suns.
Favorite TV Show:
Mayday and The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos
Movie:
Empire of the Sun, Dances with Wolves, The Last Samurai, Legends of the Fall and Little Women are a few of my favourites.
Five people (of all time) I would invite to my dinner gathering:
Hayley Wickenheiser, James Cook, Louisa May Alcott, Rick Mercer
and Michelle Obama (she can bring the salad).

Your stories and accomplishments in Aviation are what help keep our Chapter motivated; we would love for you to share them. Keep us posted on your Aviation endeavours - send your good news / updates / photos to info@womeninaviation.ca and you could be our next member spotlight!
